On this page
1.Get help
Email hello@precipitous.io. The same address handles support, billing questions, privacy questions and data requests.
2.What to include
The more of this you send, the fewer questions we have to ask back:
- The email address on your SigCraft account, and the name of your organization.
- The Gmail address you connected.
- What you did, what you expected, and what happened instead.
- The exact error message. Many errors show a code that starts with
GOOGLE_. Include it. - When it happened, with your time zone.
Never send secrets
Do not email passwords, verification codes, access tokens or key files. We will never ask for them.
3.Connect your Gmail
Use this when you want SigCraft to set the signature on your own Gmail account. One person, one Gmail mailbox.
- Sign up or sign in at sigcraft.app, and build a signature in the editor.
- Open Settings, then the Connections tab, and choose Connect Gmail. You are sent to Google.
- Google has not finished verifying SigCraft yet, so Google shows a warning screen when you connect Gmail. SigCraft asks for a Gmail settings permission that cannot read, send or delete your email. To continue, choose Advanced, then "Go to sigcraft.app".
- Pick your Google account and approve the Gmail settings permission. If you leave that permission unticked, the connection cannot be completed.
- Back in SigCraft, your account appears under Connections.
- Pick a signature and choose Push signature. SigCraft writes it to your primary send-as address in Gmail.
Gmail limits a signature to about 10,000 characters. SigCraft refuses a push that is larger and tells you so. Shorten the signature and push again.
Each signature has a switch in the editor, Track opens and clicks, that is on by default. Turn it off if you do not want the signature to carry an open-tracking image and tracked links. A change applies the next time you push that signature. The Privacy Policy says what tracking records.
What you are approving
- https://www.googleapis.com/auth/gmail.settings.basic
- openid
- profile
- Gmail settings
- Lets SigCraft read the addresses you send mail as and write your signature. It does not let SigCraft read, send, move or delete email.
- Identity
- Tells SigCraft which Google account you connected, so the dashboard can show it.
Limits on connections
One SigCraft account can have 3 Gmail addresses connected at once. To connect another, disconnect one you no longer use. For now, one SigCraft account can also connect 5 different Gmail addresses in total. Google limits how many people can connect until it finishes reviewing SigCraft, so connecting can also be full for a while. SigCraft then says so. Your signature is saved, and you can copy it into Gmail by hand.
4.Common questions
Does SigCraft read my email?
No. SigCraft requests no permission that would let it read, send, move or delete email. The Privacy Policy lists what each permission is used for.
Google shows a warning screen. Is that safe to continue?
Google has not finished reviewing SigCraft, so it warns about every app in that state. The permission SigCraft asks for cannot read, send or delete your email. You can see it on the permission screen and in the Privacy Policy. Choosing Advanced, then "Go to sigcraft.app" is how you continue. You can remove SigCraft at any time under third-party connections in your Google Account.
My Gmail connection asks me to reconnect
Google reported that the permission was withdrawn or has expired. Choose Reconnect Gmail under Settings, Connections and approve the permission again.
Google did not return a refresh token
This usually means the account was already connected to SigCraft in another browser profile. Remove SigCraft under third-party connections in your Google Account, then connect again.
My signature looks different in another mail program
Mail programs change, strip or block parts of the HTML they show, so small differences are normal.
5.Disconnect
- In SigCraft, open Settings, then Connections, and choose Disconnect next to the account.
- Choose whether to also empty the signature on the address SigCraft last pushed to. If you leave the checkbox unticked, the signature stays in Gmail until you change it.
- SigCraft asks Google to revoke its access and deletes the connection, including the stored tokens.
- To check at Google, or to remove access from there instead, open third-party connections in your Google Account.
Signatures stay in Gmail
Unless you ticked the checkbox, disconnecting does not remove a signature that was already pushed. You can change or delete it in Gmail settings.
Deleting your SigCraft account does the same for every connected Gmail account: SigCraft revokes its access and deletes the stored connections and tokens. If you are the only member of your organization, it also deletes the organization's signatures, teams, push history, tracking data and billing record, and cancels its subscription. It does not clear the signatures in Gmail.
6.Request data deletion
Disconnecting removes the connection only. To delete everything, delete your organization from the organization menu at the top of the dashboard, or delete your account from the account menu. SigCraft then deletes the organization's signatures, teams, push history, tracking data and billing record automatically and cancels any subscription. SigCraft keeps a ledger of connections, made of keyed hashes with no address in it, to count them against Google's limit. It is not deleted. If you cannot sign in, or want only part of your data deleted:
- Email hello@precipitous.io from the address on your SigCraft account.
- Say what to delete: your whole organization, one person's entries, or tracking data.
- For anything that belongs to an organization, we may ask you to show that you are one of its admins.
- We delete the data from our live database and confirm by email within 30 days.
The Privacy Policy describes exactly what is kept, for how long, and what deletion covers.
7.Billing
Starter is the one paid plan. One person, one Gmail mailbox. It costs $3 a month or $28.80 a year. This is the beta price, and it is kept for as long as your subscription stays active.
- A 14 day free trial with no card. It starts the first time you push a signature to Gmail or add a second signature.
- After the trial, pushing to Gmail and keeping more than one signature need the plan. Building, editing and copying one signature by hand stay free.
- Renews automatically each month or year until you cancel.
- Cancel any time from Settings, then Billing. The plan runs to the end of the period you paid for. Open Settings, then Billing, and choose Manage billing. To start a subscription, choose Subscribe there.
Paid plans may not be open yet. If they are not, the Billing tab says so, nothing is charged, and the limits above are not applied. An organization admin starts and manages the subscription. Stripe takes the payment, and SigCraft never sees your card number. If the billing page does not open, email hello@precipitous.io and we will help. Questions about billing or the plan: hello@precipitous.io. The Terms of Service cover renewals, cancellation and refunds.

8.Google Workspace domains
Connecting a whole Google Workspace domain is not available yet. There is nothing to set up in the Google Admin console today, and we ask you not to add SigCraft there.
