Terms of Service

Effective date:

These terms are the agreement between you and Precipitous LLC for using SigCraft. They are written to be read. Please read them before you connect a Gmail account.

On this page

1.Agreement

SigCraft is owned and operated by Precipitous LLC, a Virginia limited liability company. In these terms, we and us mean Precipitous LLC, and the service means SigCraft.

By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

If you use the service for a company or other organization, you are agreeing on its behalf, and you confirm that you are allowed to. In that case, you also refers to that organization.

2.The service

SigCraft lets you design email signatures and push them to your own Gmail mailbox. It can also show how often a signature was opened and which of its links were clicked.

Google has not finished verifying SigCraft yet, so Google shows a warning screen when you connect Gmail. SigCraft asks for a Gmail settings permission that cannot read, send or delete your email. A way to connect a whole Google Workspace domain is built but switched off. It is not part of the service today.

SigCraft changes the signature setting in Gmail and nothing else. It does not read, send, move or delete email.

3.Accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • Give accurate information when you register, and keep it current.
  • Keep your sign-in details secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
  • Tell us promptly at hello@precipitous.io if you think someone else has used your account.
  • Organization admins decide who is in an organization and what its members can do. If you are a member, your admin can see and manage the signatures, teams and analytics in that organization.

4.Connecting Gmail

SigCraft acts on a Google account only because you tell it to. That makes authority your responsibility.

  • Your own Gmail. Connect only a Gmail account that is yours, or that you are authorized to manage.
  • What you approve. SigCraft asks for one Gmail settings permission, which lets it list your send-as addresses and write a signature. It cannot read, send or delete your email. Google shows a warning screen first because it has not finished reviewing SigCraft. The Privacy Policy lists everything SigCraft requests and stores.
  • Limits. One SigCraft account can have 3 Gmail addresses connected at once and can connect 5 different addresses in total. These limits exist because of Google's limit for apps it has not finished reviewing, and they can change.
  • Withdrawing. You can disconnect in SigCraft, and withdraw access at Google, at any time. Disconnecting revokes SigCraft's access and deletes the stored connection. The Support page explains how.

Do not connect, or try to connect, a mailbox you have no authority over. We may refuse or remove a connection when we cannot confirm authority.

5.Signature content and acceptable use

Your signature content stays yours: the text, images, logos, links and banners you put into SigCraft. You give us permission to host it, render it and push it to the mailboxes you choose, which is what running the service requires.

You are responsible for that content. In particular:

  • It must be accurate, and you must have the right to use every name, photo, logo and mark in it.
  • If your profession or a regulator requires a license number, disclosure or disclaimer in your email, including it and getting it right is your responsibility. Locked fields and required disclaimers in SigCraft are aids, not legal advice.
  • A signature goes out in every email its owner sends. Treat anything you put in one as public.

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for anything unlawful, or in a way that breaks rules that apply to you.
  • Put false, misleading, infringing, defamatory or harassing content in a signature or banner.
  • Impersonate another person or organization, or misstate who an email is from.
  • Link to malware, phishing pages or other harmful destinations.
  • Use tracked links to hide where a link really goes.
  • Push a signature to a mailbox whose owner has not authorized it.
  • Use the service to support spam or unsolicited bulk email.
  • Share your sign-in details, or let someone else use your account.
  • Interfere with the service, probe it for weaknesses without our written permission, get around its limits, or try to reach another customer's data.
  • Copy, scrape, reverse engineer or resell the service.

6.Tracking

A signature pushed by SigCraft can contain an open-tracking image and tracked links. The Privacy Policy says exactly what they record. They concern the people who receive your email, so:

  • You decide whether to use signatures that carry tracking, and you are responsible for that decision. Tracking is on by default. The signature editor has a switch, Track opens and clicks, that turns it off for a signature. A change applies the next time you push that signature.
  • You are responsible for any notice you must give your recipients, and any consent you must get from them, under the privacy and electronic communications laws that apply to you and to them.
  • Do not use tracking data to try to identify, profile or single out an individual recipient.
  • Tracking is approximate. Mail services load images on their own, block them, or hide location. Do not rely on an open or a click as proof that a person read or did anything.

7.Public links and shared templates

Each signature has a preview link. Anyone who has the link can see that signature without signing in, so share it with that in mind.

If you publish a template to the template marketplace, it is visible to anyone, and you give other SigCraft users permission to copy it and adapt it for their own signatures. Publish only what you have the right to share, and remove personal details first.

8.AI autofill

Fill in from text sends the text you paste (the first 2,000 characters) to OpenAI and fills in signature fields from the result. It can be wrong. Check every field before you save or push a signature. Do not paste text you are not allowed to share.

9.Plans and billing

  • Plans. SigCraft has a free plan and one paid plan, Starter. One person, one Gmail mailbox. It is billed monthly at $3 or yearly at $28.80. This is the beta price, and it is kept for as long as your subscription stays active. After the trial, pushing to Gmail and keeping more than one signature need the plan. Building, editing and copying one signature by hand stay free.
  • Trial. A 14 day free trial with no card. It starts the first time you push a signature to Gmail or add a second signature.
  • Paid plans may not be open yet. Until they are, nothing is charged, and the limits described above are not applied.
  • Payment. Starter is a subscription, billed in advance in US dollars through Stripe. Renews automatically each month or year until you cancel. We do not store card numbers. You are responsible for any taxes that apply. Only an organization admin can start a subscription.
  • Canceling. Cancel any time from Settings, then Billing. The plan runs to the end of the period you paid for. In the app, choose Manage billing. You can also email hello@precipitous.io. Deleting your organization, or your account when you are its only member, also cancels the subscription, at once.
  • Refunds. We do not refund part of a billing period, except where the law requires it.
  • Price changes. We will give you at least 30 days notice before a price change applies to your subscription.

10.Google and other services

SigCraft works with Gmail and Google Workspace, and your use of those is governed by your own agreement with Google. SigCraft is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Google. Gmail and Google Workspace are trademarks of Google LLC.

SigCraft also relies on other providers, listed in the Privacy Policy. We are not responsible for services we do not operate, including changes Google makes to Gmail, to its programming interfaces or to how it displays signatures.

11.Privacy

The Privacy Policy explains what data SigCraft handles and how. It is part of these terms.

When you put other people's information into SigCraft, such as your team members' names, addresses and phone numbers, you confirm that you are allowed to, and that you have given any notice the law requires.

12.Ownership

The service, including its design, code, templates and documentation, belongs to Precipitous LLC and is protected by law. While you follow these terms, you may use it for your own signatures and those of your organization. That permission is limited, is not exclusive, and cannot be transferred.

Signatures you make with SigCraft templates are yours to use in your email. If you send us feedback, we may use it without owing you anything.

13.Availability and changes to the service

We work to keep SigCraft available, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted. We may change, suspend or retire features, and we may take the service down for maintenance or for reasons outside our control.

Pushes depend on Google. If Google is unavailable, limits requests or refuses a token, a push can fail or be delayed. Gmail allows a signature of about 10,000 characters, and SigCraft refuses a push that is larger. Google can also end a connection, for example when a token expires or you remove SigCraft in your Google Account. You then reconnect in Settings, Connections.

14.Disclaimers

Please read this section and the next one carefully

The service is provided as is and as available. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

Without limiting that, we do not promise that:

  • A signature will look the same in every mail program. Mail programs change, strip or block parts of the HTML they display.
  • Open and click figures are complete or accurate.
  • A signature meets the legal, regulatory or brand requirements that apply to you. Checking that is your job.
  • The service will be free of errors, or that every push will succeed.

15.Limit of liability

Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Precipitous LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. That includes lost profits, lost business, lost data, a signature that was wrong or was sent to the wrong mailbox, and errors in tracking figures.

Our total liability for all claims relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Some places do not allow some of these limits. Where that is the case, the limits apply only as far as the law allows.

16.Indemnification

You agree to defend and indemnify Precipitous LLC and its officers, employees and agents against claims, damages, losses and costs, including reasonable attorney fees, that arise from:

  • Content you put in a signature, banner or template.
  • A mailbox you connected without the authority to do so.
  • Your use of tracking, including any failure to give notice or get consent.
  • Your breach of these terms, or your violation of the law or of someone else's rights.

17.Ending your use

You can stop using SigCraft at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, or if we reasonably believe your use puts the service or other people at risk.

When your use ends:

  • Your right to use the service stops.
  • Signatures already in Gmail stay there until someone changes them in Gmail. SigCraft empties one only if you tick that option when you disconnect.
  • Your data is handled as the Privacy Policy describes. Deleting an organization deletes everything SigCraft holds for it. Deleting your SigCraft account deletes your stored Gmail connections and, if you were the only member of your organization, everything SigCraft holds for it. Either one cancels its paid subscription at once, with no refund for the unused part of the period. Deleted data cannot be restored, so to get a copy, email hello@precipitous.io first; we will respond within 30 days.
  • Sections that by their nature should continue do continue, including ownership, disclaimers, the limit of liability, indemnification and governing law.

18.Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute arising from these terms or the service will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Fairfax County, Virginia, and you and we agree to the jurisdiction of those courts.

19.Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, we will post the new version on this page with a new effective date, and for a change that matters we will tell account holders in the app or by email. If you keep using the service after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms.

If a part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the service.
